I found some
sand in my nose today,
Then some more
fell out of my ear.
It’s two weeks
ago since we went to the beach,
When will the
sand disappear?
I only dug a
couple of holes.
And was buried
up to my chest.
But I washed it
all off with a dip in the sea,
Just before I
went to get dressed.
Yet on the way
home in the car,
I could feel the
sand in my mouth.
Grating and
grinding like rocks in my teeth,
No matter how
much I spat out.
My socks are
like buckets of stone,
That crunch in
my shoes when I tread,
Slipping and
sliding all over my feet.
No wonder my
toes are all red.
My hair is a
terrible mess.
It sticks out
all over my head.
Combing and
brushing is no help at all,
The sand has
killed it stone dead.
If I take a bath
in the evening,
I’ll emit a
terrible screech.
Washing and
scrubbing is all done in vain
When your
sitting on most of the beach.
I don’t think
I’ll go there again,
Even though it
was terribly fun.
It’s not just
the sand that ruined the day,
I also got
burned by the sun!
